Nurseries from Berkshire Healthcare

We provide nursery places for children of Berkshire Healthcare employees as well as children in the local area. Our three nurseries are Jack-in-the-Box at Upton Hospital in Slough, Kiddies' Cabin at St Mark’s Hospital in Maidenhead, and Little Dragons at our offices on Bath Road in Reading.

Our nurseries are owned, managed and supported by the NHS and all of our staff are employed by the NHS. We care for children up until 31 August in the year that they start school. We benefit from having a linked Health Visitor and we work with Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals.

We are open from 7.30am-6pm for 51 weeks per year. Nursery days are for 10 hours and children attend a minimum of two days per week. Children may access the 15 and 30 hours funding at our nurseries and it is stretched across the 51 weeks that we are open.

The nurseries provide a safe, stimulating, caring and nurturing environment enabling all children in our care to reach their full potential. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing opportunities for creative play, and learning and development, and supporting children’s needs and interests.

We don’t just offer places to NHS staff so please see our website for full details about each nursery and get in touch if you’d like to find out about available places.
