Today we celebrate the NHS 72nd Birthday. So much has happened within the last year, we wanted to highlight some of our achievements.
The last few months have been challenging not only for the NHS, but for everyone. We’re so proud of our staff, who have shown so much dedication, compassion and care, that we wanted to reflect on some of their fantastic highlights from the past year.
Celebrating our achievements
This year, we achieved the highest possible recognition from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) - an ‘Outstanding’ rating – and we couldn’t be prouder. Our staff have worked tirelessly to make sure that the care we provide is of the highest quality and the CQC report shows just that.

Going digital and adapting the way we work
We faced some big challenges this year. COVID-19 dramatically changed a lot for many people and our services had to rapidly adjust to the current situation. We adapted and became more digital with many of our teams supporting patients safely via telephone and video consultations.
All our service pages have been updated on our website to ensure you are kept up to date with any changes.

Many of our staff were also redeployed during the peak of the pandemic; our incredible staff stepped up to the challenge to help support other services in need.
- Dentists join the fight against COVID-19
- Jasmine’s journey from dentist to COVID-19 swabber
- A special Easter on the ward
- From proactive mental health nursing to Rapid Response and Treatment
- Going back to the frontline to support patients
Celebrating us, celebrating you
Over the past few months we have been overwhelmed with the amount of support we’ve received from members of the public and businesses. Our staff have been working around the clock to support our patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and every act of kindness has helped them.
We received so many kind donations, from food packages to toiletries and clothing. Not to mention the PPE equipment that has been donated from local businesses and schools. We also had members of the public dedicating their own time to make scrubs for our staff. We want to say thank you to every single one of you who kindly donated and supported us during this difficult time.
