It's Safer Sleep Week, the Lullaby Trust's national awareness campaign targeting anyone looking after a young baby.
Sadly around four babies a week still die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and if all parents were aware of safer sleep advice, many lives could be saved. A greater awareness of safer sleep leads to a decrease in the numbers of babies dying.
Our Professional Development Lead and Infant Feeding Lead for Health Visiting Services, Kirstie Burrows, has written a blog all about creating a safe sleep environment from your baby. It covers everything you need to know about putting your baby down for a safe sleep. Read the blog here.
