The CAMHS Children in Care team are here to support young people in care.
Sometimes, one service isn’t enough to meet all of a young person’s needs. This can make it harder for professionals to provide support. The Children in Care team brings people together to offer the help young people need. This can include support with school, health, or social care.
With our support, there will be fewer professionals involved. Young people will see the same familiar people who understand their needs. It will also be easier to know what is happening and what will happen next. Plus, they won’t have to wait as long to get support.
Every young person’s journey is unique. The CAMHS Children in Care team will find the right support for each person. They may experience one or more types of support:
We accept requests for help made by social workers or professionals involved in a young person’s care for all children in care who are the corporate responsibility of the three local authorities in Berkshire East: Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest, and Slough.
The young person must be under 18, with complex needs, even if they do not have a diagnosable mental health problem.
Please note: direct work will not be offered to young people who live outside of Berkshire.
