Early language development workshops

• Do they find it difficult to allow or tolerate you sitting next to them?
• Do they struggle to use words to communicate?

The Early Years Speech and Language Therapy Team will be talking about different strategies that may support your child.

• Does your child have a limited number of words?
• Do they only use short phrases?
  
  The Early Years Speech and Language Therapy Team will be sharing ways you can support your child’s early language development. 

The Early Years Speech and Language Therapy Team will provide an overview of how we can use gestures, objects and pictures to support language development. 

• Does your child struggle to use clear speech sounds?
• Is it hard to understand what they are saying?

The Early Years Speech and Language Therapy Team will go through how speech sounds typically develop, the difficulties children can face, and how to help your child develop clear speech sounds.  

Every child is unique. In this workshop the team will run through the speech, language and communication differences which your child may experience. The team will also provide some strategies which you can use to ensure your child understands and can be understood as much as possible.

This workshop is suitable for families and settings who support children with autism or suspected social communication differences.
